Greece 1987 player shirt by Puma believed to have been match worn by Kanaras in the UEFA European Championship Group 5 against Holland played at Diagoras Stadium, Rhodes on the 16th December 1987.
It was a contetious game following the Greek FA's request to have Holland's abandoned match with Cyprus changed to be awarded as a defeat for the Dutch rather than to be replayed.
The request was refused and Holland won the rearranged match 4-0 which meant they went into this final group game with Greece only needing to avoid defeat to qualify. Unfortunately they lost out 3-0 with Koeman, Lankhaar and Gillhaus on target for the visitors. Kanaras played the full match and represented his country only 4 times in total. It was as close as Greece would come to qualifying for a Euro's until 2004 when they not only qualified but won the tournament.
Correct player size flock Puma print professionally heat pressed, flock crest and Puma logo, made from 70% polyester and 30% acetate, made in Greece under licence, design not commercially available, swapped with a Holland player and comes from their personal collection - a signed letter verifying this will be provided.
