This adidas home shirt was produced for the Soviet Union national team between 1989 and 1991, originally intended for use at the 1990 FIFA World Cup in Italy. Despite its striking design, the team ultimately wore a different adidas version during the tournament.
The shirt features a vivid red and white patterned design with the iconic “CCCP” lettering printed across the front, symbolising the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics.
The adidas Trefoil logo sits opposite the Soviet football federation badge, both placed above the chest. Made from polyester, this shirt represents one of the final kits worn by the USSR before the nation’s dissolution in 1991.
