Cliff Jones is an all-time Welsh football legend, so it shouldn’t come as a surprise that a Wales shirt worn by the winger made four figures (£1,400) at auction.
Also famous for his contribution to Tottenham Hotspur’s Double-winning season, Jones was a standout star for his country and swapped shirts with a club teammate in the match, against Scotland, that this article was worn in, with Jones scoring the Welsh goal.
The beautifully embroidered patch crest - oversized, by today’s standards - features match information and the neck, cuffs and number 11 eleven on the reverse neatly contrast with the red base for a timeless, classic look.
