This France shirt, of the style worn at the Euro ’92 European Championship tournament, is a great example of the “adidas Equipment” period.
The bold reference to the French “Tricolore” flag in the German manufacturer’s shoulder bars and the golden coquerel crest were worn by Gallic superstars such as Eric Cantona and Jean-Pierre Papin, as Les Bleus went to Sweden with great promise.
As it turned out, the promise wouldn’t be realised until later in the 1990s, but this release was a precursor to great success and a classic in its own right.
