Achieving £8,500 at auction, this blue and white short-sleeved No.8 shirt was match worn by Kenny Dalglish for Scotland during their 1982 FIFA World Cup Group F fixture against New Zealand, played on 15 June 1982 in Málaga.
Produced by Umbro, the shirt features a dark blue body with a white V-neck collar and matching sleeve trim. The embroidered Scottish Football Association crest appears on the left chest, inscribed F.I.F.A. World Cup Spain 1982, with the Umbro double diamond logo opposite. The reverse carries a large white No.8 in the manufacturer’s distinctive block font.
Dalglish opened the scoring in the 18th minute of Scotland’s 5–2 victory, marking his 29th international goal. After the final whistle, the shirt was exchanged with Allan Boath, from whose collection it originates.
Worn by Scotland’s most-capped outfield player and a key figure in British football history, this shirt represents an outstanding piece of match-worn World Cup memorabilia with direct player provenance and a clear connection to a memorable tournament performance.
