Werder Bremen and their official outfitter Kappa launched the clubs new 08/09 white home and 'event' away kits to the general public in a very unique manner. Using the motto: ‘Mein letztes Hemd für das neue Werder-Trikot‘ (the shirt off my back for the new Werder jersey), 100 fans had the chance to claim the new kappa shirt for the 2008/2009 season.
The Kappa models were offering to swap shirts at an event staged in the forecourt of Bremen’s main railway station. Those selected by the attractive ladies, who were prepared to part with their sweater, shirt, blouse, t-shirt, polo shirt or another jersey, received the new Werder Bremen jersey in return.
Those not lucky enough to be selected could find solace at the Werder-Fanshop. There, a limited number of the new jerseys went on sale from 12pm. At the railway forecourt, a Werder-Fanmobile had the shirts on sale from 2pm.
The 07/08 green home kit will become next 08-09 seasons away kit.
