Notts County FC announced that it has signed an agreement with Nike to be the Club's kit supplier after ending their deal with Vandanel last week.

Medoc, the Nottingham-based technology solutions company has also been confirmed as the home shirt sponsor. Medoc sponsored the Notts County FC Centre of Excellence last year, and was shirt sponsor to the Club between 2006 and 2008.

The official launch of the kit will be on Friday 21 August, when the replica kits go on sale in the Club Shop and Online.

Commenting on the agreement, Peter Trembling, Executive Chairman of Notts County FC, said: "We are delighted to announce this agreement with a manufacturer of the calibre of Nike. This underlines further our ambitions to develop Notts County and its brand internationally, by signing with a global manufacturer who works with the footballing elite day-to-day."

Oldest club in the world assembling the oldest team in the world - plus a hell of alot of debt. In times of recession the Football League should impose wage caps or deduct points to save the future of professional football. If all goes well County will make the Premiership - if it doesn\'t, receivership beckons. What\'s the average wage of County season ticket holders? Probably under half of what Sol\'s on. Plus - ask yourself what his team mates think.

Regarding the strip, I\'ve seen plenty of junior football teams play with the Nike \"Tick\" on their shirt, so it\'s nothing to brag about.

Gordon, the backlash! I\'ve supported Notts for 21 years and seen the bottom of the b*o*d* barrel these last few years. Due to some mix-up, I didn\'t receive my voting slip for this takeover but my \'No\' vote would have been like spitting in the wind.

Now that the takeover has gone through should I abandon my team? No. So don\'t go shouting abuse. I will support them until death.

Lee Hughes may have killed someone but, unless you yourself have that burden weighing upon you, you can\'t sit in any judgement-the press are hawks that encourage and instigate much of the parochial banter that emanates from football fans (usually bitter at their club\'s ineptitude: very few Man U fans complain).

So the strip\'s not unique, who cares? How could any fourth-tier club expect that of Nike? Even Marseille have had \'facsimile\' kits a couple of times and their owner OWNED Adidas. (They have also had some b*o*d* ace ones!). Barcelona\'s strip this season is the same design, save collar, as Hertha\'s. Do you think the cules care? Not one bit, they\'re more bothered by that salmony thing of an away strip.

And how is our Technical Director failed tactically? He plays an Italian game, yes but will have so strong an influence over Charlie? I doubt it.

Bring on the purple, I\'ve still got my Matchwinner shirt from all those years back, although pizzas and Guinness have seen it harder to get into as the years pass. It would also make a logical \'third colour\' as it is in the badge, although I bemoan the loss of the thin yellow stripe (NOT the fanzine!).

A good shirt to see playing against Rushcliffe F***** next year. Come on Notts!

Firstly, Sven is not the manager, he\'s the director of football. And even if he was the manager how can you say he\'s tactically inept? Sven\'s won Serie A, Coppa Italia and been beaten in finals of both Champions Cup and Uefa Cup. Idiot.

I wonder if you\'d all be complaining so much if your clubs had a massive cash injection. We\'ve been **** at the bottom of League 2 for a long, long time now, so please excuse us all as we take a moment to revel in the exciting times that we are currently experiencing.

The kit is a little plain and boring, but so are many Nike kits at the moment. They have deals with many lower league clubs, none of whom have a truly unique kit (meaning they are all templates) so why have a b*t*h and moan at Notts? I feel for Vandanel, but I\'m sure they were paid off handsomely.

New manager - a proven failed tactically inept one at that, a Criminal signing, a kit that looks kind of odd without a centre stripe (not bad, just odd), more money than sense. I feel sorry for the fans, the oldest club in English history and you have Sven as manager. When he gets sacked the papers will read Sven Flu.

Bitter - move to Notts mate - your town and club are thrid rate. \"What if\'s?\" - it\'s what makes football. What if you were born several miles down the road and you were Mancunian. Small town mentality - Good luck to Notts - it may all be over in a couple of months but at least they have a nice ground, beautiful woman, a MANAGER (NOT DOF) who has heart and a group of fans who wouldn\'t say that about Rochdale. Hope Rochdale go down and out of business! And as Brian would say, \"Mind your language, Gents\".

Nice kit - always a classic no matter who makes it...

There isn\'t meant to be a black stripe centrally on this shirt. The mix up was on the kit Notts had three years ago when it was discovered that the replica shirts had been manufactured incorrectly and differed from the first team kit because the central stripe was white and not black. The shirts were withdrawn from the club shop. Anyone who had bought one was offered the correctly made shirt in exchange once stock was in

So much anger, you need therapy. The comments about Lee Hughes are uncalled for, he made a mistake and went to prison = debt repaid to society. Move on.

Not sure if i have my facts quite right here, but isn\'t there ment to be a black stripe down the middle of the County shirts and weren\'t new strips pulled from the shop and changed because of this a couple of years ago?

Perhaps the new owners wanted a big name like Nike to run alongside their ambitions. Tiger Woods wearing all Hi-Tec on the course wouldnt look glamourous would it.

The template kit can be explained by that they dropped Vandannel weeks before the season starts and there wasnt enough time to design, print and manufacture unique shirts.

History tells us it will be replaced in two seasons time anyway.

    Yours, notts county fan

Yes, this is just a template, but the cut, and the fabric are oth so much better than anything Vandanel have ever made.

Vandanel kits always look really ill-fitting, way too wide, making the players look like they\'re wearing a size too big. The material they use looks really cheap and shiney, and then on top of that they plaster their logo wherever there\'s space.

I\'d take a boring Nike teamwear template any day over a Vandanel shirt that looks like it\'s come from the back of a rail in the Cancer Research shop.

What a load of rubbish . Looks like it would be worn in the Southern league an old dtemplate which could be bought online.. A disrespectful kit . Nike haven\'t come up with a decent kit for anyone in years.

A classic strip that shows respect for the classic black and white strips of legendary Notts County. Very well done. I couldn\'t take Notts County seriously in Vandanel, clear statement of intent switching to Nike that they can\'t be a*s*d with League 2 after this year.

As soon as the rich *******s get bored and the money is gone and sven ****s off they can switch back to vandanel. If they dont go bankrupt first.
