Flamengo have introduced the Diamante Negro football shirt by Braziline, released as part of the club’s activities for Black Awareness Day. The launch honours the Black heritage that has shaped Flamengo, Brazilian football and wider national culture. The release also forms part of the club’s ongoing celebration of its 130 year history.
A visual theme inspired by the Sankofa symbol guides the shirt’s presentation. Originating from African tradition, Sankofa represents the importance of learning from the past to build a stronger future. This reference appears throughout the jersey in the form of tonal patterns that sit within the brown and black horizontal banding.
The front of the Flamengo football shirt displays the classic CRF monogram in a light gold tone on the left chest. Raglan sleeves in solid black frame the patterned body. A woven patch placed near the hem carries the Diamantes Negros identity and a geometric motif featuring the CRF initials. White trim runs along the side of the shirt from the underarm to the hem, linking the front and back panels.
On the rear, the same horizontal bands continue with the Sankofa inspired texture integrated into the fabric. The wording Clube de Regatas do Flamengo Desde 1895 is printed beneath the collar to highlight the club’s founding year and reinforce the commemorative nature of the release.
